In an article in August last year, we advised that support for Windows 10 expires on 14 October 2025, which isn’t that far away!
So, what does this mean for you?
It is not something to ignore, especially if your computer is still running Windows 10 and you use it for Internet banking. You may have even received a Pop-Up warning message advising that your Windows 10 version is reaching its End-of-Life and to upgrade to Windows 11.
After 14 October 2025 Windows 10 will continue to work, however, computers with Windows 10 will no longer receive Fixes, New Features and most importantly Security Updates, potentially leaving your computer open to hacks, viruses, ransomware etc.
We have seen in recent months large corporates and small/medium businesses alike start the process of replacing their Windows 10 Desktops and/or Laptops with new Windows 11 Desktops and/or Laptops. This process is accelerating rapidly as 14 October 2025 approaches. We are seeing a very fast turn-over of stocks of both Desktops and Laptops with most arriving shipments selling out same-day or within the week.
With the current high turn-over of computer stock, as we get closer to 14 October 2025, it will become harder to source Desktops and/or Laptops with the specifications you may need and/or want.
What is your next step?
Our recommendation is don’t wait until the last minute if you want to upgrade your desktop computer and/or laptop.
We work with a number of reputable New Zealand suppliers of computer equipment and can source desktop computers, laptops, printers and other computer equipment at competitive prices. We can tailor a computer package specific to your business or home.
