Earlier this week it was announced that DIA had busted a text scam ring operating across New Zealand. DIA released that they had carried out 12 search warrants across the country during 2023 with 4000 items seized consisting of $35,000 in SIM Cards, about $10,000 in luxury items, a designer handbag and skincare products along with more than $56,000 in cash.
A number of people were arrested following the search warrants, charged and will be appearing in court.
